What makes you think this would not fly today? Trust me, I have seen many an ad in Journal of Clinical Psychiatry that looks like this. Or worse. Pharmaceutical advertising had its HEYDAY in the 60's. It has all been downhill since then. At least this has a design-y layout going on. Not just someone walking down a road from darkness to sunshine.

That is a good point -- today the trend is to show the "solution" (healthy happy patients), not the "problem" (diseased or troubled patients.) Even though the problem is much more interesting visually.
