Copyranter, thanks for hipping me to Etti-Cat! I grew up in NYC, and am always glad to discover things about the city I didn't know existed or happened. I followed your link, and those subway EC signs are great!

to distract them, the nycta was putting up subway station ads with cartoonish faces specifically to be drawn on by the poster boys and girls. that didn't really work...
