Playboy ads ironically say men do read it for the articles (nsfw-ish).

(click, via)
From the ad agency press note:
"Y&R South Africa was briefed by Playboy SA to develop a print campaign to help shift perceptions about the magazine, reaffirming its position as being more than just a centerfold. Although the publication has always placed a significant focus on intelligent journalism, publishing iconic interviews and in-depth features, thereâs been an uninformed local myth that readers will only be exposed to pictures of naked women..."
Are you finished, Y&R? Cause I 'm finished (anybody got any tissues?).
Creative note: I guess it was just too hard to find actually Playboy story headlines?
Speaking of deforestation and silicon valley (nsfw)...

I would like this concept if the headlines were "New Fiction by Dave Eggers" or "Michael Lewis on the Financial Crisis." But just making them juvenile double entendres basically says "hi, we are a porn magazine for teenagers."

Possibly related: the captcha I get to post this comment is "momplay."

RE:(...tissues?)

We now know it takes Helmut Newton Light, b&w imagery, for you to 'arrive' and momentarily forget about ranting... thanks for sharing.

OK! so they covered the ass, the artificially enhanced boobs and the deforested pubic mound, where's the iconic interview with Ffyona Campbell, author of:

- On Foot Through Africa
- Feet of Clay: On Foot Through Australia
