FEMEN protest anniversary of Chernobyl with Titz Blitz.

(click images) As the 25th anniversary of the tragedy approaches, starting tomorrow, Kiev is hosting an international forum on nuclear safety. Many world leaders will be attending, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Today, the arriving dignitaries were met with a FEMEN protest titled "Mess in the Sarcophagus" ("Sarcophagus" is a reference to the remnants of the nuclear plant.).
The Ukranian Krazies' basic message seemed to be: Much like many of its citizens, the government of Ukraine is cancerous. The racktivists urged delegates "not to engage in physical contact (shaking hands, kissing) with the host, due to a malignant effect of the latter."
Several FEMEN were arrested, and one was hospitalized with a "suspected fracture of the clavicle." Read/ see more here (nsfw).

Here, three FEMENs hit the streets of Kiev to declare: "Let's shake boobs and not earth." This is what they had to say about this spectacle, translated by Marina Galperina at ANIMAL NY:
"FEMEN conducts an action in support of the Japanese people. “Praise those who defeat the dragon!” FEMEN are earnestly inspired by the Japanese people who were able to overcome this disaster. Their strength, their samurai self-control, their heroic actions in time of crisis should serve as examples for all of us. Japan has proved their ability to rise from the ashes before and we believe they will defeat the Dragon before the cherry blossoms bloom."

The Femen in the black hood and ears—a rabbit—represents " the inhumane massacre of justice of the leaders of the radically honest opposition." Arrests soon followed. With a new version of the three monkeys pose, members of the Ukrainian feminist group give Mark Zuckerberg a little what-for. In a post titled Zuckerberg vs. Boobs, FEMEN leader Anna Gutsol said this about the banning (translated):
"The Internet is less than coping with the role of a refuge for freethinkers and more implants bans and censorship, where they are not relevant."

Today, in Kiev's International Square, the racktivists put on some camo-wear and some Stars of David and bawdily re-imagined one of the most famous scenes in cinematic history (minus a baby). Why, you may be asking? Well today is the International Day of Nazi concentration camp liberation. Said FEMEN leader Anna Gutsol (translated):
"We are seriously concerned about the possibility of returning to Ukraine to Nazi values, as a logical result of government incompetence and apathy of the people of Ukraine. At such times, people tend to go for different-sized home-grown 'Fuhrer.'" Gutsol added that the sexist stance mode of Ukraine's current political leaders is the same fascism.
They need a creative director and bigger production budgets.

Today, the racktivsts kept their tops on for once during this "slings for battle" rally for the victims of "Bloody Sunday"—a large protest that took place last December 19th, the day Lukashenko won a disputed fourth term, and police beat opposition candidates. "Dear World War II veterans, in particular, women veterans, fascinated by your deeds, your beauty, your strength of spirit! Often present themselves in your place: on-site caring nurse, a cold-blooded snipers, fearless partisan, Tireless Worker in the rear.
