Finally, an anti-drunk driving spot gets the tone right.

Only once before have I seen a drunk driving video that didn't make me shake my head and sigh (this wonderful short film via Denmark). Usually, the commercials are either pathetically preachy or "shocking." But this one, via the New Zealand Transport Agency, talks to kids, not at them. Although calling our young hero a "bloody legend" is a bit much. Ad agency: Clemenger BBDO.

Worst. Flight of the Conchords episode. Ever.
that did not suck
There are plenty of good anti-drunk driving spots from NZ... better than I have seen from any other country

Though, I'm from NZ.
That was rubbish. Even the UK ones are better than that nonsense.
I've seen many UK ones, and they've all sucked, except this one:

@Anon Nope, that didn't suck. You should see the Irish ones if you want to see bad ones http://youtu.be/om9qq2d4DRk
In Australia there was a drink driving campaign with the tag line: If you drink and drive you're a Bloody Idiot.
This led to a popular mocking response: If you drink and drive you're a bloody idiot. But if you make it home you're a f***ing legend.
The "Bloody Legend" reference in this ad may be to that (realize this is ad is from NZ - maybe they had a similar earlier campaign)
'Bloody legend' is a pretty standard phrase in oz/nz. Wouldn't call it overkill. Real nice spot.
"Puzzle time..."
Please feel free to rant on my take on the subject circa early 2010.

The silly part of me loves the "You know I can't eat your ghost chips" part.
I agree with @Adrian. Legend is a pretty standard phrase, the equivalent of saying something is awesome.
better than this from the UK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfNSkrbiFEw&feature=youtu.be (Drinkaware's contribution)
it's awesome. It's getting a great response here and it's already had about 500,000 on YT. Great job, hopefully it picks up a few awards.
