Mercilessly for Santa it was quick and relatively painless, judging by his smile. It didn't take long for Frosty the Snowman's brimy, salty discharge to sink rapidly, growing as it descended towards the sea floor, forming a BRINICLE and killing whatever it came into contact with, encasing it in a tomb of ice.

Jings.....and all the while here I was thinking that Santa was a top.
This year, Santa is taking it up the chimney.
