The 2nd best butter commercial ever produced.
Here's the best, for the same brand by the same agency, from last January. That's the very ccol Rutger Hauer doing the voiceover work in both spots.

HOLY FUCK those two butter ads are proof that advertising can, on very rare and glorious occasions, not suck.
More than not suck, advertising can actually be good!
Bravo to the team who cranked those gems out. Perfect casting on the Hauer.
The first one was excellent. I don't like this new one. It's very repetitive. Watching chopping, dicing, peeling, etc for a whole minute bored me. There's a reason why most commercials in Japan are only 15 sec long. What's worse is that this is not even remotely original. They can do at least 5 other similar executions. It's well done though.
So, Wieden+Kennedy, London, must have taken note of your response/comment for the 1st commercial: "I don't like such a shameless plug for the fucking French" and have now followed suit with a not so subtle 'exploding aubergine' in the 2nd... are you happy now fils de montagnards appalachien?

Maybe the 3rd best butter commercial...Kerrygold took 1st prize back in the 80's. Every Irish person knows the immortal line...."you could put a bit of butter on the spuds Andre"
