The importance of execution.
I believe that headline won a One Show pencil nigh on a decade ago. Although in this case, it's the visual that puts the fu in fun here.
Maybe I'm dense - but it *is* sorta clever. I first read it as the preggo girl talking, THEN as the foetus. SO hey, made *me* think. But the message is romantic marlarky so it didn't really work in the end.
I don't think pro-choice or anti-abortion ads are ever meant to make converts but, rather, to rally their own troops into action. Ideally, it should be a dog-whistle, provoking action from their own side but not a reaction from the other.
To the anti-abortion believer, the joke is probably darkly funny yet poignant/moving. To a pro-choice believer, it's just plain funny.
I imagine that this it's effective in its job of preaching solely to its own choir. However, not being a member of that particular choir, I'm not really in a position to know.
