Cat Video of the Day.

It's not really the fetching, it's the panting.
Cat was a dog in a previous life.
Or a previous one of its nine lives.
Or is a half cat half dog in its current life.
And she's not the only one.
Yesterday: Cat GIF of the Day.

Cats do play fetch. We had one who did.

They also pant, but it's usually an indicator of stress or distress in a cat. If I had a cat who panted with exertion, I'd have Kitty to a vet right quick. Cats can suffer from respiratory diseases, like asthma. My sister's cat has it and needs inhaled meds for it.

I had one (Binky) that fetched and jumped back on the bed, just like this one.

Annapolitan, this is from the video description:

"This video is from when Tifa was about 6 months old. For those of you concerened about the panting, she went through several tests and the vets saw nothing wrong with her. She only panted when running and playing for too long. Today she's more than a year old, doesn't pant anymore (she's gotten too lazy for all that running :P) and is leading the life of a perfectly happy and healthy cat... Or dog, I don't know anymore."

My cat, Faux Paw, a 6-toed, one-eyed wonder, plays fetch and used to pant when he got winded as a kitten... he's outgrown the youthful exhuberance of panting, but still fetches. The other one, Yogi, cannot fetch, but can and does intercept and destroy all paper balls that cross his path. He also warns me like a dog when someone approaches the door - with alarm meows. And many years ago I witnessed and heard a cat bark in jealousy over a new puppy on Christmas morning. Damndest thing... everyone was making such a fuss over the yapping pup, that the cat up and barked just to let everyone know it wasn't such a big deal.
