Das Boot gets banged.


Seamen and semen. Previously, we've seen Das Boot humor used to sell cell phone reception. Now, UK optician Specsavers. The spot was shot at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport, according to Brand Republic. I admit, I didn't see the ending coming (that's what the U-boat said!). The sub is a popular, fairly hackneyed setting for ad concepts. As a young adman, I once did a Das Boot concept for a presentation to Swiss company Ricola that involved a St. Bernard (with cough mints in his collar barrel) coming to the rescue of a loudly-hacking German seaman.
