What the hell....
it's a gag, the guy's name is Kendo Kobayashi, his nickname is Ken-Koba, the little white birds are "kenko" (healthy) "hato" (dove), "h" becomes "b" when two words are run together, giving "kenkobato" - a pun on his name.
