It's cRaZy Ad Friday!


(click ads, via) That's pretty unbearable! I know! It's hyperbole! But I don't think cyanide and candy should ever appear in the same ad together! But's that's just me! What do you think?!?
I loved a hilarious award-winning ad from 2009 for Mentos Marbels via O&M Mumbai that used the same illustrator, but conveyed the candy's sour selling point much, much better.
Here in America, via the Martin Agency, we now have the funny "Dragee" videos selling the power of Mentos "positivity."

If they wanted to go down this path, they should've gone all the way and staged a real photo shoot with a guy about to blow his brains out. We see an open tin of sour candy on the bedside table. The guy's face is puckered -- not absurdly so, but enough. The gun is cocked. We get it: unlike the candy -- and, perhaps, life itself -- death will be sweet. No copy. End of ad.
