This is a new video for the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) that has that aha! ending that ad awards show judges get hard over. (Not the best term to use in a rape post, but I can't go back now.)
I've said it before, but it's just true: rape is an impossible subject to address in advertising (See four misfires here). But, this spot by Saatchi & Saatchi, Bogota actually stirred a reaction out of me that wasn't a scoff; I was transfixed. Showing the awful violence in diorama form was a smart way to go. The title translation is a little off, but you get the idea. Here's a 2nd spot that's more brutal.
