New McDonald's french fries spot—cute or utterly *f*cking stupid?

"Fry Fishing" (yuckity yuck). I'm busy with my real job, so you tell me what you think of this new Mickey D's commercial via Leo Burnett. I've told you what I think in the post headline. See many more McDonald's print/ambient/TV ads here.

Positively excellent. I expected the kid to catch a huge whale, not for a bunch of random people to dive in after it. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

so i am watching that, and i am thinking that those two are so far from the nearest the mickey dee and the fries must be so cold by then that the only thing they're good for is... fish bait.

I want to see part two where all these fry-caught humans are dragged from the water with fishhooks in their cheeks, and cannibal grandpa smiles approvingly at his little fishing partner. "Next we'll learn how to gut 'em, Billy - did you bring the rope?"

that is one of the eight ads types.

were you expecting the adult to also pick up a fry, they turn, face each other, do a fry bump, and munch, each with happy smiles...

You said 8, BUT according to Donald Gunn, he believes that there are 12 types of ads that you see on TV, while Seth Stevenson warns us to resist them all.

It's not even an original idea. It was produced even more horribly about 10 years ago by an African American ad agency.

hahaha, I liked the angle they used to watch the people diving in. Not bad in my opinion.
