More (maybe) retro nipples.

(click ad, via) The can of Griffin's boot polish is, at best, the third thing you notice in this 1930s layout. Also note: this is an ad for men's polish. Naked nipply women wearing transparent rain slickers seemed to be an ad meme in the 30s.

Sales of 'costlier waxes', 'rare conditioning oils' and 'wonder-working silicones' eventually plummeted.

Gee, I wonder if the advent of 'shoe cameras' had anything to do with it.
