I've noted this as well. One Yahoo! article not only failed to mention that he labels himself as a conservative Christian, but labeled him simply as a "right-wing madman", and then went off on a tangent about Muslim fundamentalist terrorists.
So, to recap: when a Christian commits an ideological massacre, they're a lone madman whose actions in no way reflect upon the Christian ideology. When a Muslim commits an ideological massacre, , they're an Islamic fundamentalist terrorist.
That's because he isn't a Christian fundamentalist. And he did not shout 'Praise the Lord Jesus Christ' while killing innocents.
He is also a former Social Democrat and enjoys playing World of Warcraft. What does that have to do with anything?
He is, however, a right-winger, and I don't know what kind of news you read but it is all over the news that I get.
Here's the conservative, and sadly mainstream, thinking broken down into a single comic frame. (Since that's usually how deeply and seriously they think, anyway.)

Sorry to disagree, but here in Belgium on the teletext news and regular news broadcasts it was clearly stated he is an extreme right winger, anti-islamist and christian fundamentalist. I don't know where you get your news but I would seek it somewhere else if I were you.
Dear international readers: I was merely pointing out that DRUDGE, whose most loyal readers are right-wing Christians, is ignoring the killer's political and religious beliefs.
And Exciting!: The killer says he was waging a "Christian war" with his attack.
Ranter, why should foreign readers know or even care about Drudge report? Though I live in the States, I get my news from foreign sources. I don't trust the US media.
Sadly, the Drudge Report is more widely read than most US and international news sources.
I'm from Norway and it he has clearly stated that he is a christian fundamentalist. It's painted all over the media here. Still, his right-wing islamofobic stand is what matters.
Why in the heck would anyone care how a mass murderer labels himself? That makes zero sense. He's a stone-cold killer. Fundamentalism isn't the problem - extremism is.
So to recap, when a (so- and self-called) Christian extremist commits murder he is referred to as a fundamentalist. When a jihadist kills, is he referred to as an extremist but not a fundamentalist as well? The words cut both ways.
there are tenants to fundamentalism. he doesn't subscribe to them. though i suppose "christian" might be descriptive.
WARNING: Politically Incorrect Rant Below
I've seen a number of blogs and minor news outlets insinuating that the mainstream media is unfairly refusing to label Anders Breivik as a Christian fundamentalist. I'd say mainstream media is in the right on this one. Fundamentalism is after all, strict adherence to specific theological doctrines.
Christian fundamentalism in particular means a strict adherence to the commands of Christ in the Bible as the inerrant word of God, commands such as "If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." (Matthew 5:38-42), or "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." (Luke 6:27-31).
Compare this for example to the oft labeled Islamic fundamentalism, being a strict adherence to the words of Muhammad - words like, "Make a severe example of [unbelievers] by terrorizing Allah's enemies... Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion." (Ishaq:326-327) or "I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off.” (Qur'an 8:12).
So, is the news wrong for refusing to label Anders Breivik a fundamentalist?
When a Muslim commits an act of terror, is the news correct in labeling them a fundamentalist?
Thoughts?
He should very well be labelled as a "TERRORIST" - where in any dictionary does the word 'terrorist' imply 'muslim'?
Direct quote from his own "manifest" pp. 1403-1404:
"As for the Church and science, it is essential that science takes an undisputed precedence over biblical teachings. Europe has always been the cradle of science and it must always continue to be that way.
Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I’m not an excessively religious man. I am first and foremost a man of logic. However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe."
Anders Breivik did not read the Bible or speak to a preacher and because of that felt compelled to go out and kill innocent people.
He is first and foremost a cultural conservative and it is that agenda which he is trying to further. The man is not a bible-thumper.

On a related note, it is ironic that the Islamists, whom he is fighting against, are the only ones cheering him on...
Here in Australia he has been described as a Christian fundamentalist with extreme right wing views. He was also purported to have links with Neo-Nazi groups - It sounds like he's getting his ideologies a bit confused.
keep this political garbage off the blog please, i thought this was supposed to be about advertising.
i already read the huffingtonpost today and they told me what to think, thanks..
It's my blog and I'll post a pic of Matt Drudge getting fucked in the ass if I want to.
