The commercial of the year (so far).

Now this is brilliant use of creative license. (This is not). And this is how to exaggerate product benefit. (This is not). It's a little long, but I guess the agency figured :30 wasn't long enough to set-up the joke, and so they needed to extend it to a minute for a possible broadcast buy. And thank you, agency and client, for not ruining the moment with a honking LG logo super. Bravo, Y&R Amsterdam.

brilliant- and I hate LG
Agreed. Brilliant. Normally, I can't stand a long set-up, but this was handled perfectly.
Still is a bit weird the guy's afraid the TV would be caught by the camera, but not by the employees. The face is alright to show too...
Yes, it's not at all perfect. See "creative license" comment.
Fabulous. Bravo.
(What's wrong with LG? The 2 major appliances I got work well, and they replaced non-American American brands that didn't)
@Anonymous
Let's not over analyze it. It's perfect as it is. It's hilarious. Too bad it has not really gone viral. Not yet.
AWESOME! haha
Anonymous (circa 9:42) - How'd he get the tv out of the box? Wouldn't the cameras from other angles pick him up? Wouldn't a best buy clerk be annoying the shit out of him to buy comcast? Shouldn't the coat hanger have gotten you a long time ago?
Not using a super is also...super.
whew - i am glad that the best ad of the year happened so early in the year! all creatifs, now go off and do something productive instead of wasting your time trying to be better.
I-)
I love this. It's so smart and unexpected. Sure the story got holes in it, but who cares :D
There's an old Silent movie called the thief; I guess inspiration was taken from that.
