Budweiser's awesome Super Bowl salute to hockey.
Airing only in Canada, of course, because American sports fans are morons. Gotta give them babes and juvenile humor. That's how to do a flash mob. However, I still won't drink the swill. Ad agency: Anomaly. Read more about the set-up at Puck Daddy. Previously: This Vegemite hockey commercial is fucking hilarious.

This is awesome. And will play VERY well up here, though I agree that Bud is undrinkable.
One thing though, Copyranter. It's not ice hockey. It's just hockey.
As someone who has played a lot of hockey wearing both skates and sneakers, I agree.
Honestly, I'd think this would play well to all the American non-sports fans just watching for the commercials... seems like a missed opportunity.
Here is the original idea before unoriginal cunt Canadian creatives saw it on YouTube and decided to steal it so they can win an award or two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nbkbss7i5s
And I'm sure Improv Everywhere was the first ever group to do it.
How is this flash mob any different from other boring flash mob stuff we've seen? Fucking boring, and drawn out. Stop ramming your fucking game down our throats, bro. You've said a gazillion times that you played hockey. Say something new.
@W.C.S. Work is out of Anomaly in NY — so it was cunt American creatives, you stupid cunt.
Improve everywhere did that 4 years ago. Here it is http://improveverywhere.com/2008/04/07/best-game-ever/
U2 sounding music, sounds of engine, several short cuts for build up, people, city scape, several locations, attractive woman's midriff to stop us dozing off, a few hints, and then the big revelation, wooooooooooo, more editing cliches than even I could have managed.
It was predictable from the "we lied" comment.
"Improve everywhere did that 4 years ago."
Yeah, well Bud did it better. And your mom goes to college.
I love this. Wish the US audience could see it and maybe get a clue about Canadians & hockey. To all the bored assholes who have seen it all before:
Yeah, nothing.
Nice one, but I believe this French clip deserves the credit for the inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp0ksbz0mtE
Of the three, I think I like the Improv Everywhere one best. Pretty cool that they got NBC and the Goodyear blimp to join in. The Budweiser one is ok, but the branding/sponsorship is a bit heavy-handed. I didn't like the French one at all; the "fans" just took over the game and didn't let the players play.
The difference between the little league game and the hockey clip is that the kids still have their dreams in front of them. One of them could actually play pro ball.
The glory days are in the past for the hockey guys. But guys are still kids at heart, still dreaming of "what if". Even though the spot is meant to sell beer, at the time of the hockey game, you can tell that the event did mean something to them.
The French event was, to use their word, stupid. They made a mockery of the event, and the players.
"I never played professional, but I imagine this is what it's like."
Yeah, ads and shitty beer everywhere! Just like the pros.
So much negativeness in here. Lighten up a bit people. Rec league dudes looked like they had the game of their lives...who cares what else happened?
