New Boston Bruins web video is the best hockey advertising ever.
I am a lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan. And, therefore, there is nothing on this ever-warming planet that I hate more than the Boston Bruins and their slack-jawed, mono-syllabic fans.
The Bruin Bear spots of the past were funny. But, this, this here is brilliant. I laughed out loud two or three times. And this is just the teaser for more sit-com style shorts to come.
I don't think pencil-necked Jack Edwards should have been in on the fun, though; he's seriously the worst hockey play-by-play announcer in the history of ice.
Ad agency: Arnold Worldwide.

"THE best hockey advertising EVER"? THE definitive best ever? Big words. I think it's fine, but what's so fantastic about it exactly? Seems to be funnier as an idea than it is in execution, and frankly it goes on way too long. And this is coming from a Bruins fan who lives in Boston.
The ad competition is slim to none, that I've seen.
Loved this as well. However it set the bar pretty high and the first "episode" (which requires one to download their mobile app to view) didn't quite measure up imho. It was intentionally goofy, but lacking in the big payoff department. That it featured Jack Edwards being typically over the top Jack Edwards didn't help.

Good stuff. But I bet the longer skits will start sucking fast.
Did you ever post about the "History Will Be Made" ads, or "Cup Raise" and "No Words"? I loved them, but it'd be nice to see what a professional thinks.
No Words was OK. But all of them were too hyperbolic for me (as a semi-serious player). It's a fucking hockey game; put on your gear, and play your ass off.
I would put Edwards 2nd worst pxp to Joe Benintai. Between him and Laughlin it's like a cheese grater being run over my ears.
What was funny about that? I'm genuinely curious, and I'm worried that you're losing your touch.

You're probably not old enough to remember Don Earle. Bruins fans by the thousands turned down the TV and listened to the great Bob Wilson on the radio.
I'm older than you think: I listened to Earle do Flyer games growing up in south Jersey.
I stand by my Edwards assessment.
