Biggest paper in world's second largest country loves copyranter!

Last Friday, copyranter made its debut in "Canada's national newspaper," the Toronto Globe and Mail. At the end of the article, which is mostly about what's wrong with blogs, technology reporter Ivor Tossell lists ten "worthwhile" blogs, including mine! Yay? I thought Canadians hated angry, ranting Americans? Maybe Mr. Tossell isn't Canadian (Ivor seems an angry name)? Maybe he knows that I am one of the few true American ice hockey fans (go Habs!)? Or that I was a big fan of Rush (Neil Peart is a drummer GOD) in college, where I drank more than my share of Molson? update: I also LOVE the New Pornographers!

Take off, ya hoser.

(And Peart is a silly lyricist.)

Time to get a book deal, Ranter.

The back photo from that album is interesting as it depicts how by that point the band had become Peart's. It was like Neil posing with his two girlfriends, Geddina and Alexis. I swear the picture was modeled after Tony Orlando and Dawn.

Single greatest piece? You're obviously forgetting the important body of work left behind by the greatest writer ever to come out of Austria, Falco.

I'm Canadian and I check in you once a day. I was way way ahead of the curve than the Globe & Mail!

Oh Copyranter, you keep this Toronto intern sane while waiting for projects. I'm sure many other Canadians feel the same.

We're much angrier than you think.
I cover marketing (not for "Canada's national newspaper" but for its biggest news service), and Ivor's a friend of mine. He asked for some of my favourite blogs and I mentioned yours, which regularly makes me look like the office lunatic, muttering and cackling alone at my desk. Thanks for giving me an excuse, anyway!

Now you have a lot on your shoulders. You're representin' all of us Americans — you and Dubya. Maybe we have a chance ...

No one outside Toronto reads the Globe, but the rest of Canada loves you too!
And angry ranting is fine as long as it's not directed at us.

or maybe what gives you the drive to rant and swear at the (often american) stupidity around you is the same thing that made you drink molson and cheer for the habs: deep down, tucked away, inside your heart of hearts, you are really one of us. a johnny canuck. embrace your canadian-self. c'mon. you know its true.

G&B is one of the few papers worth picking up in this culturally deprived (except for Toronto) country. Hats off.
