That'll make her feel so "warm" and "fuzzy". Thanks to Maureen for the photo, snapped at her local pharmacy. Previous "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks:

Best gender transition card I've seen this year.

So loving! My parents scratch out the quotation marks on the "To a Dear Daughter and 'Son'" cards.

And that's how Jill found out she was adopted.

I get those every card-giving occasion from my in-laws after 11 years of marriage. They all say some form of "son."

Yeah, I was thinking it was for a grandson and his wife. The quotation marks would still make it a "plastic fuzzy" (so to speak), but they wouldn't be entirely unnecessary.

These cards were a regular past Christmases feature in the Maddow and DeGeneres households... sarcasm was never implied then.

Rachel and her older brother David, Ellen and her brother Vance, all appreciated their liberal, understanding and very loving grandparents, paternal on the former, maternal on the latter.

"Uncomfortable" is more accurate.

Gender transition is never comfortable, and even though someone like me might find the "granddaughter" quotation marks insulting (especially since I have female chromosomes too) I would appreciate the effort...especially from my grandparents. In their time explaining Kleinfelter's Syndrome and transgender issues would have been more difficult than explaining computer design in a way a cat could understand it.
