Norwegian Smart Car Ads Too Smart For This American Dumbass.

(click ads, via) I get the general message that the teeny-tiny autos are good for the environment and my breathing. But I don't get why Smart Cars are buried underground with trees growing out of their tailpipes. And, while cars and lungs are very generally the same shape, I'm not quite feeling the smartness of the Smart Car lungs tailpipes/windpipe medical diagram thing. Ads by Oslo agency Futatsu Industries. Previously: new US Smart Car ads as cute as a bug's ear. • cute Smart Car street promo via Toronto.

Agreed. Trying to hard to be clever without actually, you know, achieving it.

To me it looks like the cars are the shadows of the trees, not the roots, but I still don't really get it.

Lexi: I believe you're right, and it doesn't help the visuals.

Hey Dumbass can it be a representation of ecoological burials?

You know smart car shaped containers made of compressed organic matter, porcelain, and glass, designed to function as cinerary urns (i.e. receptacles for human ashes).

The urns are meant to interact with their surroundings by dissolving into it, and eventually producing a living monument, in the form of a tree in memory of the deceased person whose ashes it contains.

So, if the car is beneficial environmentally, then I assume that, the more of them are manufactured and driven, the less environmental damage will accrue.

Fuck advertising. Every fucking bit of it.

Yes, well, there's that.

I agree with copyranter but not with peoples' petty, child-like remarks at each other! Like being back at school.

it's still visually clean and conveys a corresponding message between the car and its values.

It's not, 'on the button' is it?

I see the exhaust pipes as "releasing" the trees and air. So I sort of read it as saying the Smart cars emissions are as clean as air...trees produce oxygen...people breath oxygen...
