Canned Got PMS? milk campaign exploited by animal rights group.
(click ads, via) Last week, the California Milk Processor Board pulled their laughably sexist campaign, a campaign the antiquated Jeff Goodby of ad agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners said "served its purpose." (Which, I guess, was to insult most every woman and man who saw it?)
Well, now Mercy For Animals is "borrowing" Goodby's slick art direction for a new Got Ethics? anti-milk print campaign that they say will launch in an upcoming issue of Ms. Magazine. Here's the website. Warning: graphic video auto-plays.

i have seen modern dairy farms in vermont - huge sheds in which cows live, all year long. there are wonderfully green fields all around. those are used to grow corn and hay and as an area for disposing of manure (which really reaks up the air for miles when it is done).
despite that, i do like the ad ansd the 'what p.o.'s me more than pms?' approach.

The retouch is really bad. At least the original ads were slick. Also, the women don't look livid. The one on the right looks like she's drugged out. Really really bad.
Yes, I chose not to address the ads creatively. Bad stuff. Fake blood on the cartons? Ugh.
terrible parody. personally, i thought the original ads were decent.
women seem to have a sense of humor about PMS than men do. almost all my girlfriends have made fun of themselves for acting crazy during their cycle. get over it, PC dudes. if we tried and sanitized everything and nothing was geared towards gender, advertising wouldn't exist.
so is it the most clever campaign in history? no. but it was kind of funny and well executed.
but back to the parody. it's poorly executed artistically and doesn't resonate.
