The lamest ad agency intern contest ever conceived.

Via Creativity:
"McCann New York is inviting young creatives to win a three month creative internship simply by writing about this push-pin.
The agency says it chose the push-pin specially and asks entrants to choose their format: a short story (743 words or less), a short film (2 minutes 4 seconds or less), a series of photos (no more than 11), an mp3 (3 minutes and 39 seconds max), or some other form of media (no limits).
Anyone interested should send entries to hkmccann@mccann.com. The winning entry will be featured online as well as winning you the internship. Oh, and you'll also win the push-pin."
Well, this is McCann. Here's my entry: Stab every square millimeter of your body with it, then gouge your eyes out with it, and then shove it all the way up your penis meatus. Ad agencies: forever terrible at promoting themselves.

(Apologies if this is too idiotic/ shameless to be approved!!

Intentionally stupid, but better than push pin essays.

With your permission, Ranter, I would like to send McCann New York the chocolate horse ass (award) for the most mind bogglingly asinine, profoundly imbecilic, unbelievably pointless creative contest ever created! Only in America...

According to McCann, they picked that fucking push pin you see in the picture out of MANY push pins. What a bunch of idiots! See here, http://blog.mccannlondon.co.uk/slide100_day25.html

I already know who's going to win. That person, however, is probably too old to be an intern. It's the enigmatic 1-T-M, who is known for his quirky comments on here.

I would like to submit my entry via this blog (seriously).

I have chosen to use 3 of the 743 words and then use a number.

Penetrating ideas since 1900.

I know MaCann are not asking for a slogan. Does the client ever know what they really want ?

Material used:

The push-pin was around before 1900, however Edwin Moore patented them in 1900. The companies current slogan is 'Quality since 1900'.

Wiki page on push-pins

Which led me to Moore
http://www.push-pin.com/mpphist1.html

If they are having a sale on push-pins they could use 'Less is Moore'. Given how obvious it is, I would be surprised to be told they have not used the slogan.

5 minute time out for JAN Kelley, for using the Reservoir Dogs Slo Mo Walk. I believe PIXAR owns that now.

@Panetta

Here in Canuckistan, that's a "5 minute major". I'll gladly serve it. And if major penalties are handed out for co-opting ideas, consider me an industry goon. (Yup, there are two hockey references for ya - free of charge.)
