Readers: I am off on a three-day weekend, the daylight hours of which will be spent trying to catch as many Washington Square Park squirrels as I can with my trusty stick-rope-peanut thingie. My advice: do NOT buy "chicken" dishes from any East Village Chinese restaurants for at least, oh, a month.
Back Monday.
(UPDATE: make that "duck" dishes. They just pay me for the critters, I don't ask.)

Come on. Everyone knows that those restaurants use pigeons in place of chicken. The squirrel is used in place of duck.

Actually if you want to go the exotic route you need to head over to Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. They have black squirrel there. That's a delicacy.

There's no truth to the myth that black squirrels are bigger and meatier, however.

Am I now qualified to write copy? Or greeting cards?

Village Chicken Dishes. That is just wrong. First. Chicken hormones. Then bird flu. Now you. I am going on the vegan beer diet:)
