Cole Loses Yet Another Battle In War On Words.

It's an atrocity, no doubt—the mixing of terrible shoe puns with the War in Iraq. The torturous use of language is reminiscent of Abu Ghraib, though.

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop on this campaign.

Forever.

But in the meantime, some 50-something senior copywriter is sleeping well in a paid-off house, fucking his wife with a conscience as clean as a mormon baby.

Who needs Noam Chomsky when you've got political philsophers of the calibre of Kenneth Cole?

"As clean as a mormon baby."

Anon, that's fucking nice. I'm definitely using that one, only most likely sarcastically and acompanied with a depraved, nihilistic punchline.

just curious where kc's agency is getting their intel because so far, no news organization has been able to verify the number of people who have died in iraq. nor has any governement agency released such a statistic. iraqbodycount.net, a site that aggregates the number from news orgs, puts the estimate between 38,000 and 42,000.

what's the world coming to when you can't even believe advertising?

"no news organization has been able to verify the number of people who have died in iraq"

assuming you mean during the war. because Saddam released, like, totally accurate death counts when he was in charge.

War?

Sadly, the only thing that matters is who WINS. And -- unlike the alpha-dog corporate assholes who read 'The Art of War' -- the losers don't live to fight another day.

Cable TV is this guy's research library.

I can think of 30,000 poorer ways to spend an advertising budget.

and I can think of 30,000 reasons not to include shoe puns in such a serious ad.

It seems copyranter hates everything, including himself and what he does for a living. Sounds an awful like a tired, talentless, bitter hack to me.

Referring to yourself as a ranter doesn't give you permission to be a
hateful ass. Grow up. And get in a new line of work if you think advertising is beneath you, (which I suspect isn't.)

There's nothing more pathetic than a self-hating ad man. Except, maybe, a self-loving ad man.

**Actually, there is! You! Or should I say "ewe!" or "U!"

BTW, Kenny stole this slogan. This has been used on anti-war signs/buttons/banners since the Sixties.

I hope KC continues on with his "words" campaign. I'm all for someone spending their ad budget reminding people of the injustice in the world.

Tell me, copyranter, what do you like? Anything? Ice cream? Potato chips? Hot sex? Anything? tell me.
