American Psycho ad graphically graphic.

Apparently the 2000 movie, starring the wonderful Christian Bale as the horrible Patrick Bateman is just now making its New Zealand TV debut. previously in graphically appealing print ads: Calgary hemp store ad gets high marks; Levi's Eco jeans ads beautiful/depressing;

While I like the idea, and I can't think of many ways they could have made it clear that it was a dress shirt without that much of the button panel visible (maybe a breast pocket?), the only people I've ever seen wear a necktie that short were on stage as comedians, and I find that kind of jarring.
i think it's a beauty. good idea, good execution. i didn't try to figure out the logistics at first, since it doesn't bother me, but maybe the tie isn't short. perhaps his shirt came untucked while he did his thing...
what i like is that it gets your attention, then you look closer for the 'get'.
i vote "great."
If I remember the movie right, he spends quite a lot of it running around pantsless -- this could be a shot of the abdomen of the shirt.
It looks bloody good to me too. The logic of the tie length didn't occur to me at all, just a really nice clever idea.
