State Senator and Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee Jarrett Barrios has dropped his bid to ban Fluffernutter sandwiches in school lunchrooms. (story link) Now the idiot lawyer can get back to the less important matters—like homeland security.previously:

Even the incredibly-tabloidy Boston Herald didn't have a headline that good when they reported this news.
Some political grandstanding:
"Obesity is a greater threat to our nation than Al Qeada. More people die every year from weight-related disease than all other forms of death combined! Fatties and their problems are an economic burden to the tune of 10% of annual GDP! Also, visits to the beach are increasingly visually disturbing adventures for the American people! We must take a stand today for the sake of our children and our children's children."
I remember looking at the tv when I heard this story thinking WTF?
