Orbitz ad such a cock tease.

Ad scanned from the April/May issue of MetroSource magazine. If you're going to go there Orbitz, go all the way. Rewritten copy:
"...and grab our great packages now! The Northeast just got 8-9 beautiful inches! Lodges are wall-to-wall wood! Ski hard, play hard!
previously in gay advertising:
1. The Village Voice Sex Ad Awards.
2. Bud tells Gays OK to be Gay.
3. Gay men don't buy their leather at Daffy's.

'Skiing' is, to not put too fine a point on it, a term for wanking 2 guys off at the same time.
And the less said about being covered in white stuff, the better.

I just love how subtle the Orbitz ads are.

The ads in MetroSource, Advocate, Out, etc, are so depressing. On the level of 1950s car ads with women draped across the hood. Are we so starved for representation that we will accept this kind of imagery? Are we so eager for acceptance that we are willing to consider being advertised to as a sign of social acceptance rather than the niche marketing it is?

About ten years ago I was part of an American Express direct mail campaign to the gay (male) community. Like all DM, it was a test — sending out the control package versus a mail piece targeted to the gay community. The writer on the piece went on to write a book about marketing to the GLBT community. But the mail package lost against the control. I can't draw meaning from it, since there could have been any number of variables that led to this result. But what interested me were all the assumptions of the client and other people in the agency about the gay (male) market.

I'd fuck both of them. And they wouldn't have to leave town.

You're good. That's very funny. Have you considered a job in copy writing?
