You Can't Spell You Know What Without a 'Z'
The Head of DaimlerChrysler, Dieter "Dr. Z" Zetsche, freaks me the fuck out. I'm sure you've seen some of the new "funny" commercials featuring the German engineer (Here's 1). While I'm pretty confident he's not a Nazi, he sure as shit looks like a Heinrich Himmler straight outta Central Casting. Meanwhile, the spots have failed to generate sales.

I wouldn't be so sure that he isn't a Nazi. The goofball asking him questions in the commercial is none other than the Gay Ku Klux Klansmen from Chapelle Show.

I know this will result in my ritual shaming and shunning by copyranter, but I have to admit, I do find the "Dr. Z" campaign (I mostly hear his radio spots) humorous. Not laugh-out-loud funny, but humorous. It's his accent: it sounds so fake, yet it's real! And for a corporate bigwig, I think he does a very good job acting. I also like that the Germans actually have corporate head honchos with doctorates; in America, it's whatever asshole can get an MBA and backstab his way to the top.

More of the same hacky joke: get a non urban person (WASP, old lady) and make them talk/act ghetto. Instant funny to young males.
